- Another compact and lightweight, 8 gig RAM option from apple would be their MacBook Air. This one features a 12 inch screen. It has a fifth generation 1.6 GHz Intel core i5 processor with turbo boost which will improve the processors speed as long as the temperatures aren't running too high.
- We compare the entire Apple Mac range to see which one is best for different music production situations. MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac, Mac mini and Mac Pro. It's good news that the SSD.
Audio and video software for windows 7. Now let’s look at the MacBook Air. You pretty much have the same problem with the “Air” models because they only have a dual-core CPU and only 8 GB of RAM. I wouldn’t recommend those for music production. Let’s move on to the MacBook Pro. Here you need to differentiate between the three different 13-inch models and the two 15 inch models. That’s easily enough to run DJ software (4GB minimum requirements) but if you want to use it for some music production or some extremely advanced DJ tasks (like running Ableton link) then it might not make the grade. Best Value Macbook. The MacBook Air 2018 is pretty good value! Throwing $4000 at a laptop is a luxury not many of us can afford. I would recommend getting the latest 16″ MacBook Pro with Touchbar. With up to 64GB of RAM, a 2.6GHz 6-core Intel i7 processor (9th Gen) and a 512GB (or 1TB with 8-core i9) solid-state hard drive you’ll be set for years. As of early-2020, this is the best MacBook Pro for music production.

Macbook Air For Music Recording
Hello,
I am looking for some advice before purchasing an Apple MacBook. Ideally, I am looking to spend around £1000.00 so either the 13-inch MacBook Air (128gb) or the 13-inch MacBook Pro (2.4 GHz) seem to fit the bill.
I will be looking to use music production software (Ableton Live - Ableton - Live 8) and also software for DJ'ing with (Traktor Pro 2 - NATIVE INSTRUMENTS : HOME | HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE FOR MUSICIANS, PRODUCERS, DJS, GUITAR AND BASS PLAYERS)
If anyone has experience of using these software products, or any similiar products, can you advise of the most effective MacBook to purchase within my price range of around £1000.00.
Thanks.
